I just bought a matched quad of Aperex 6DJ8 Bugle Boys and matched pair of RCA 6080 metal base NOS tubes from this seller.  I haven't received them yet but will let you know how it goes.

Out came the Mullards from my phono pre, and in went the smooth Teles.

I can already hear they have more 'air' on top, more precise with Rubenstein's piano as he moves into the upper registers of LVB's 5th Piano Concerto.

But they don't have the delicious sounding mid-range of the Mullards, which I enjoy.

Still, they only just went in, so they get the rest of the month of May to 'feel at home'.
