I'm on holding pattern with this freaking eye surgery. Having complications [ two operations so far] and may require another operation.  :x
Anyway guys check out the Monarchy room featuring Lenahan speakers. Hoping to meet all my friends on AN if the eye heals. Not a happy camper.

Sorry to hear that, Sir Charles.  Get well soon!

Carlman

I will be there in spirit. (lame, I know)  But I really will be. :)
I have a renewed interest in music enjoyment these days... just not enough time or money to do much other than listen on occasion.

Hope everyone has a great time! :)
I really enjoy listening to music.

Welcome to fatherhood Carl.  :D

On the plus side, after my son was born I went through a period of 10 or 12 years where I didn't make any changes at all to my system because of the same kind of time and money  restrictions you talked about. Believe it or not it was one of the happiest times in my audio "career"  because I didn't even think about hardware changes and just enjoyed the music with what I had.  :D
Remember, it's all about the music........

Hey Shek,
I don't think anyone understands your point; I am confused as well...

For me posting on Audio Nervosa is about "Inclusion" not about "Exclusivity" ...

The Audio Syndrome (TAS) is very diverse group of audiophiles, who pay annual dues and try to keep things in an orderly basis (schedule of meetings once a month during the 3rd or 4th Friday of the month) with a known agenda / audio topic for each meeting. It's about having fun focused on audio. Audio Syndrome members do have very different opinions on what audio should be, but we do have very thick "skins" and do not get offended easily, especially over AN postings (which are probably misinterpreted anyway)...

The NYAR always seemed to be a loosey-goosey grouping of individuals (with several mini-groups), having a blast with Saturday meetings focused on food, drink & audio... it's not as formal as TAS... lately, it seemed to be composed of mini-raves, which is always easier on the host and more focused on audio fun...

Both groups (TAS & NYAR) are composed of fun audiophiles and can learn from each other... they're just set-up differently...

You guys all misunderstood the issue, didn't you?  It all started when I posted the "Who's going" IN our group's section (so far so good?).  Then Carl took it upon himself moved it to the A/N open field.  Do we understand this first?  Then, I asked "Why was it moved"?  Simple question.  I intended it IN our group's area, that was it, NO intention of offending anyone.  It was Carl's initiative to move it elsewhere, thinking it's be good in the open field.  That WAS IT.

Suppose we posted a Rave meeting here in OUR group area, does it preclude ANYONE from OUTSIDE out group to participate?  Would it BE necessary to move it out in the open field also?  It was well-intentioned that Carl was thinking it'd be in the A/N general area, and there, it'd obviously it'd get more exposure.  But, was it necessary?  I wasn't challenging it.

Boy, how a small tinny weeny thing got blown out of proportion by us.  The way I see it, the NY Audio Syndrome group will be shut out, like what happened in the other circle?????????

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! You guys MISSED the boat at the very beginning.  OF COURSE, you misunderstood.  That's how we get in trouble most of the time.

OK, let me explain.  I posted "Who's going [to RMAF]" "WITHIN" THIS group.  Never was my intention to exclude ANYONE outside of our group to comment/post, do we understand?  Just like when a NYAR Rave is announced, did we ever exclude anyone outside of our group participating?  But, Carl moved it to the open field.  I just thought it's TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.  He could have moved our monthly meeting announcements also if he so choose, right?  But, it was well-intentioned, thinking it'd be OK if EVERYONE (else) would know about it.  Since when is a posting in OUR group precludes anyone else participating???  Carl was thinking it'd get more exposure.  Well-intentioned.  But, was it necessary?

THAT WAS IT, GUYS.  Don't lose sleep over it.  I don't want this to explode into the end result that NYAR in A/N is banned, AGAIN!

Now, do we understand, everyone :duh ?

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all good from my end.  I still wish I could be there.. It's a lot easier to understand everyone when I'm sitting next to them. (ogling Lucey Goosey)

We all saw Wes "making out" at RMAF.  He's set up his own "studio" now, making it big, tho not yet as big as our Mr. Kaplan.  We saw Kaplan Cables associated with "many" exhibitors at the show.  Is he collecting "commission" from them?  If he does, he's a rich man already, regardless of his fabled wires.

RMAF is bigger than ever.  Simple fact - opposite the registration desks area, in the lobby, we saw more tables set up.  Just the RMAF staffing is much bigger already.  Because there were soooo many vendors, one just gets dizzy with the different brands and variations one has to contend with, to sort out the "details".  :thumb: The weather was gorgeous also.  First time we didn't have snow, and it was like 70's during the day, with a clear blue Rocky Mountain sky as a backdrop (I even noticed that, regardless my head was buried among sound boxes, amps and wires).
