Thanks again Emil!  It was nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new folks.

Now with that out of the way, continue posting on how great a person I am and just how wonderful my system sound :Ds.

Emil
- you are a great person - check
- and your system sounded wonderful - check

OK, now that the formalities are out of the way, it was great seeing all you other guys again. It's been a long time since anyone threw a big rave with everyone invited. Thank you all for your effort in heading all the way out east to Emil's remote hut at the nether ends of Long Island. There were some heroic efforts at attending made by many.

A couple of highlights for me ...
- replacing the Shunyata power cord on the integrated amp with Pete's cable - this was an all around good thing that balanced out the sound of those Maggie's greatly. They souonded very fine indeed.
- hearing the Qol processor on the smaller Gallow speakers - I'm not sure that what this unit did for the Maggie's was a good thing, but I did like it on the small Gallow speakers Barry brought over. Lots of space and air and more detail. This is not something that needs accentuating on the Maggies, and it proved to be too much there for my ears, but it made the Gallo's sound tremendous.
- the weather was stupendous - a month ago a rave had to be cancelled for snow, and yesterday we had temps in the high 60's. Global warming?

Thanks,
Bob

We know Mike, and we appreciate it! We even talked about it a bit, and how much we missed seeing you. Glad to see you're still checking in, and hope all's well!

I have some pictures.  But, I don't have any for the most important part, the feast part.  When the few of us downstairs heard dinner was being served, we were late.  So, the thought was stuff-up first, so didn't take any to prove the food spread.... sorry!  Uploading was also a bit tough because of size, tho the pictures have been reduced.

Can't say enough thanks to Emil.  We had a blast, as always.

Thanks Emil, it was worth 10 hours in the car to hear the Maggies.

The Lenehans were also nice, that pair just needs a little more break in.

Didn't spend much time with the Qol as I wanted to hear the Maggies by themselves, but when it was engaged it reminded me a lot of my old Carver Holographic Generator, restoring directional cues to live recordings.

My favorite gizmo was Martin's Felix power conditioner, removed the 'ringing' in higher range of music in digital source material.

Hey Martin, can you send me the recipe for that build?

Finally, what a spread!!!  :thumb: I could have dove into the eggplant pan and done the backstroke while gorging myself on it. Broke my heart to see the deserts coming out as I was leaving, but I had to get on the road.

A big thanks to Emil. A beautiful home, great food and fine tunes. Nice to see all the Ravers again. Hope all enjoyed the toys. The Lenehan S2 had about 5 hours on them. At the end of the day after 8 hours of play they began to open up big time.
A big thanks to Hogg for bringing the Naska amp, Linn CDP and Quad Preamp for the Loft system. Thanks to  Lonewolf for lugging the speaker stands. The Lenehans love that Naska.
A great day for all thanks.  Nice photos Shek.

Big THANK YOU to Emil for the hospitality and all that attended for the fun time.
This was my first time to Emil's hideaway, I think he has some kind of space bending thing going on, his house felt much bigger inside than one would think viewing from the outside.

The dedicated audio/visual room is a blast, one can lose track of time down there. The Maggies looked great. Didn't get to hear what they could do with my music, but from the little I did hear (orchestral music) I think it needs a 'bigger' amp to sound even more wonderful...wonderfuller.   :thumb:
When I did return, the Gallos were being set up...later on Charles demoed the Qol(?) in line and switched out, the soundstage collapsed with the Qol switched out on the Gallos, amazing device.
Upstairs in the loft area, the Lenehans speakers started out sounding pretty bland and bloated, possibly due to its virgin status, it was a tough space, half wall on the left with a sloping ceiling and open hand rail on the right with horizontal ceiling. Towards the end, it had come a long way and the sound was quite decent, way better than it started.

Food was finger licking good, loved the avocado dip, veggie lasagna was very yummy ...desserts were bountiful, a perfect compliment to the coffee.
Excellent rave Emil, thank you very much. Good food, great friends= fun time...all 7+ hours.

Thanks to all that brought equipment, slogging all that stuff around is not easy.

Emil,

Thanks you for hosting another great Rave at your home.  As usual you did a bang-up job; great food and libations and delicious deserts :D
I really like the new Maggies in the basement.  What a wall of sound :)  I liked the Maggies without the sub.  I also liked Charles' ambient recovery device.  It presented a very 3-D image with the speakers.
I liked the Lenehan speakers but like Evan wasn't as bowled over by this pair as I was with the ML1's at my home.  Perhaps more run-in is needed before making comparisons.

Emil,  thank you again; and thanks to your patient family for allowing us to take over your home on a Saturday afternoon.

I see Chris is the only one that assumed the proper speaker pose (beer in hand)...

Looks like you guys had a great time! Thanks for the photos.  :thumb:

Thanks Emil for having us animals at your home. As is often the case at these raves, I found that your Maggies in their original configuration was the best sound of the day. Thanks also for somehow magically removing traffic from the Cross Island and LIE, and making our trip there and back that much better.
