That's a cool concept, and a great name. small enough to fit in a pucket and take with you anywhere.

Enjoy

Get a Y-Adapter and see how it stacks up againts the EE Dac

Where do I get a pucket? Is it required for the best possible sound quality?

The Dragonfly has a very heavy / metal / solid feel to it - not all all like a thumbdrive.  Sounds great so far - downloaded JRiver but I can't keep it from crashing 10 seconds after it starts.

Been using VLC Mediaplayer for the hi(er)-rez (16/48) internet radio feed and MediaMonkey for the rest.

2two - the EE dac is gone - thought I was going to upgrade to the Plus but that didn't happen. Bought a Peachtree DaciT which I think sounds great, esp. for the money.

Mike,

Going from memory, how do you think the DaciT compares to the EE?

Looking forward to your feedback about JRiver, if you ever get it to run, that is.   :duh
JRiver looks good on paper. Thanks

That little bugDAC has a bigboy ESS dac chip in there, so you have good genes to work with.  :thumb:    Cool idea.

Kudos to AQ for coming out with a relevant invention for hifi.  I haven't seen much innovation lately.  $250 is worth it just to have a cute little dragonfly light. ;)

PS Found this (fairly long and boring) review of it here:
"First Look" AudioQuest DragonFly DAC & Headphones amp unboxing
Note!... There are 2-3 minutes of useful information, it's an 8+ minute video.  Worth it if you have nothing else to do.
I really enjoy listening to music.

Youse guys are just too funny!

This is more like what I was referring to, and it has that magic pixie lint that makes everything sound better.

Evening gents

I was wondering if I could get your $.02 on this scenario.

All my laptops unfortunately have a dac in them from Beats Audio that I'm not too fond of. I send music from my laptop to my audio system via the Outlaw Audio OAW3 system.

http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/OAW3.html

I was thinking to improve the sound of music from my laptop I would acquire a Audioquest Dragonfly and plug into my laptop.

Since the DragonFly does not have a mini usb output I would then use a 3.5mm to Mini USB adapter to one of the Outlaw Audio OAW3 modudle.

Do you think this kind of set-up would work?

Hey DaveC

What happened to your original post? I thought you said this idea wouldn't work. I was hoping you would expound on it.

Thanks
