From what I remember about using a fan for cooling, you just need to have air moving in the right direction. It really doesn't need to be "blowing", so you can probably set that fan speed fairly low. Maybe even put a rheostat on it and make it adjustable.

Man, they look awesome. It looks like there should be one of those sparking static discharge lightening bolts hanging between the terminals on top of the tube (but then, that would be bad).

Actually, I have a 6000V gas discharge tube inside the chassis across the OPT primary in case of an overvoltage situation. The lightning bolt will be across that tube instead of the OPT or the output tube.

Update: I had Pete make up a couple of TWL 7+ American Power cords for the amps and I received them on Friday. First impressions are that I have a lot more bass than with the generic 14 gauge molded cords I was using, so much so that I had to turn down the bass control on the EQ box for my RSIIb speakers, because the woofers were distorting from overload! Now that I have it tuned in at the low end things sound very clear and smooth; I presume I'll have some changes as they break in over time, but so far, so good.

PS: The 2500VAC power transformers had a buzz that was audible from a few feet away - that has diminished quite a bit with Pete's cords! I think a little damping material on the end bells and they'll be silent. An unexpected benefit!

In discussing a Rave with the wife, she thinks we should hold off until the fall due to tight schedules and the fact that the hot summer plus 20-30 people plus the heat thrown off by the amps (considerable) might make the room like a sauna.
