I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to be enjoying the Jupiter Copper Foil caps for the past 4 months now. I have 1 uf caps in my preamp, they replaced Jupiter aluminum foil caps. I have loved every minute of them.

My copper caps were prototype flat stacked caps that Chris Young of Jupiter Condensor was kind enough to allow me to buy.

Today I ordered 4 more caps, .22 for the input board of my RM 9 amp, they will be replacing Jupiter aluminum caps.

I know others out there have ordered these same caps.

The new coppers are different than what I have in my preamp and are supposed to be even better!! The protoypes may be the best cap I ever had the pleasure to listen to, so I am really excited by the new version of these caps.

For any of you contemplating a cap change...stay tuned as I, and I am sure others (hint hint you know who you are) will chime in as to how they sound.   Sonicraft is offering them for 20% off for the month of April, so now is the time to buy and try.

If anything like the protoypes I am using in my preamp....well lets just say ..it will be fun!  They may knock the duelands and the teflon right off the radar for a while.
System consists of an amp a preamp, 2 speakers a turntable and a phono preamp, Also some cables and power cords and a really cheap cd player.

I have a pair of .47s for my preamp... have not installed them yet but plan to soon.

They are the only caps in series in the signal path in my entire system so they make a really big difference.

I currently have RelCap PCU copper foil caps, so it should be an interesting comparison.

Dulund and VCap CuTF exceed my budget in any case, it's nice to have a fairly priced copper foil option. They are even less than the RelCaps.

Just ordered some too. I will be trying them in several places ...

- coupling cap in my phono stage
- bypass caps on my speaker crossover
- bypass on my preamp coupling cap

Probably put them on the speaker first and see what it does, then move on to the others one by one. Definitely plan on burning them in spearately before installing, so this could take some time.

I did speak to Chris at Jupiter and he said the feedback from his prototypes compared them to the Duelands. Some said better than and closer to the sound of the Dueland Silvers. Now I can't imagine who owns Dueland silvers; can't be too many people at the prices for them.

The Duelund aficionados out our way are all impressed with the beeswax and are looking forward to checking out the copper ones.

Don't know if anyone has ordered any though, will keep my ear to the ground and report when I hear anything.

Thanks
Bill

Bob,

How do you burn in the caps before installing?

BobM

- Buy some cheap male and female RCA's
- Get some inexpensive hookuip wire
- wire the caps to the male (+ terminal) RCA in series (taking note of the direction you want the signal to flow - male to female)
- use the wire for the (-) terminal and any remaining length you may need for the (+) terminal
- connect the other end of the wire to the female RCA to complete an "interconnect" with the caps in the middle of the (+) leg
- plug the male end it into your CD player and the female end into your preamp
- burn away, baby

The Duelunds CAST take 400 to 450 hours for the dielectric to form. V-Caps 1000 hours to form.
I strongly recco breaking them in first. A very good method is 12 hours on 12 hours off.
Yes Sirre Bob those silver Delund CAST are the bomb. An expensive bomb that is. Crazy , stupid, overkill, yes but but I want them.

The Duelund silvers are definitely incredibly expensive.... I am working with a speaker company who sells a speaker for $142,000. Or $82,000 if you don;t mind downgrading from silver to copper Duelund CAST caps. So, a $60k capacitor upgrade...

Well if it did not sound right from the beginning, thenYou did not spend enough!
