Of course! No apology needed Werd, just have fun and keep trying to stay in the rules. Thanks for always responding politely to my requests.

Hey, no pity!
You can forget about that, it doesn't matter now. It's time to look ahead. I want to be here and I want it to be great. It's coming along well. Thanks to everybody for the support.

Greg asked me to post this and Rich was ok with it, so here goes:

Just a final note to all on AN,

First of all I was not put in a penalty box or spanked....I deleted my account.

Maybe Rich gave me a time out after the fact, no matter...Nothing personal Rich.

I just cant abide by your rules, so I will look for another forum to express my views.

I wish you well with AN, it was a fun site.

Secondly...If I might give a bit of advice to the Administrator

You say you want to preserve the readership of AN by not allowing posts that may be deemed offensive by particular members.

In my case the owners of said $165k speaker.   OK..I get it.

In that case you may want to curtail the sophomoric posting of cheerleader crotch shots.

I am sure this is offending the female readership of AN current and future.

You see you cant have it both ways. You want to be non offensive and PC ? Fine, you must do so across the board.

If you want to have a little BS circle of guys having a good time ?

Great !! I'm as fond of T&A or a dirty joke as the next guy.

You choose...To selectively lay your law down gives the site a bad taste, which gives reason to look elsewhere.

Best Regards,

Greg

Sorry to see Greg go. I enjoyed his posts. Being a moderator is very difficult. I used to participate in dispute resolution settings, so I'm quite aware. Rich does a great job. I don't think any moderator is perfect and most do their absolute best. Even if the moderator is wrong on occasion, he's the one doing the hard work and he is the one who should get the benefit of the doubt, not the poster

Greg has become a friend of mine, for many very good reasons.
Greg is an artisan who builds great speakers. Greg is not an audiophile in the classic sense we know. He is an engineer and craftsman, he builds things most of us can never dream of. His goal is to build a great sounding speaker, which he has, and that is only one design that he has implemented, there is a whole lot more in there. He is not a kit builder, he designs and builds his speakers by hand.

unfortunately Greg met real audiophiles...............
and we are an ugly lot, fickle, insecure, and mean.

It took me a year off, hiking, to realize I was an audiophile, I started off as a music lover, then morphed into an ugly audiophile.

Fortunately I have recovered, I became a music lover again, I can hear Bach in my shitty car system and have goosebumps all over my arms and legs, I do not need an expensive system with all sorts of expensive crap to be emotionally fulfilled, because the music is SOOOO much deeper than our petty insecurities. Just ask the 99.99999% of the non audiophile world who buy 99.9999999% of the music.

So Greg left....that is your loss....and when you realize it you may become recovered as well.
System consists of an amp a preamp, 2 speakers a turntable and a phono preamp, Also some cables and power cords and a really cheap cd player.

The cheerleader thread does not violate a posted rule.  Nor did someone state that a particular post was offensive and request that a moderator edit it.

But what did happen was a loudspeaker manufacturer blatantly broke the AN rules by berating the price of a fellow loudspeaker manufacturer which in of itself is simply bad form and shows no business class.

You may not judge companies negatively by the price of their products.

If Greg can't man up and own his mistake, then it's probably for the best that he closed his account. Trying to detract his bad business form with T&A is not owning his actions.

That said, T&A has no business in any audio forum IMHO! There's enough free porn on the internet so why bring it into an audio forum,,, REALLLY?   :yay2:
