No, I'm NOT replacing my VPI Prime!

My wife's Aunt and Uncle have a 78 record player that they want me to "inherit" while they are still alive and can give it to me in person!

Uncle Al says the wind up mechanism needs to be looked at. It doesn't wind up enough to get through a whole record at proper speed before running out. Does anyone know of a repair person/shop near Floral Park, Queens, NY that you'd recommend?

Try contacting Scott Gramlich of SG Custom Sound. Years ago he did work on an older Phillips 312 TT for me as well as putting together and fixing up a Thorens TD 125 Mk2 that I still use today.

May I suggest the Index Finger repair:

Step 1--Stand next to record player
Step 2--Put index finger on top of record
Step 3--Spin record at 78 RPMs
Step 4--Enjoy the music
Step 5--Apply Bengay to affected appendages
Step 6--Show off your buff arms to the ladies and, whatever you do, do not tell them how they came about
