Well, after a couple years of HT/Music room transformation (always reaching higher, ya know) I've dusted off my humble little (but heavy) tube amp. At one time, it was best to not have tubes (HT goals, mainly).

Gotta tell ya, after listening to Spotify/Pandora/Youtube fully digital for the past couple years, it's nice to have some good sound. I'm listening to FLAC right now, some of which is old Rave demo disc material. ;)

So much dynamics. Eyes closed, beverage in hand kinda music.

The tunes are so good, it compelled me to take pictures.
Granted, y'all got nice amps than this, but hey....I got what I got.

Thought you'd like some tube porn.

Thanks Rich!

(Sucks that I've got 3" of black bars on either side of my screen, so the full image isn't viewable).  :(

But yes, I'm loving the glow. The lights are down low.  8)

Nothing like the glow of some glass bottles.  :thumb:

Warms my heart.

Enjoy Bob!

Yea, I've been going back through my HDD library of FLAC that I haven't heard in a couple years. My productivity level is just about zero due all the listening I'm doing.

I had plans of bringing the Behrigner DCX2496 back into the mix and making my system (near) full active again. Adding the tubes to amp the main channels was the first step. The second step was to disconnect all the other speaker/amp wiring and rewire things to the XLR of the Behringer.

So much to do..... But Keith Greeninger is sounding too good to turn off.

It seems anybody that ventures away from tubes always comes back. Enjoy your new found glowing glass listening. :D

Bob, I remember well the day I heard you ventured away from tubes. :(

Glad you are on your way back.

Thanks Steve.
Unfortunately, I've been contemplating not only taking it out, but selling the tube amp.
I never listen "critically" anymore. Never.

The system is in the basement mancave, which is right next door to the workshop. So I may have the system on 12 hours non-stop on the weekends while I'm doing "whatever".
Not a tube amp friendly situation, I'm afraid.  :?

Now, I've never ran my tube amp 12 hours straight, mind you. So I've make other arrangements, but some changes are coming to better fit my current needs and tubes aren't part of the equation.

Know anybody that needs a Jolida JD202?   :thumb:

"Never" kinda kills the suggestion of using a tube pre/ss amp combo. But I understand.

Cheers and all the best Bob.

Yea, "Never" is indeed a thing.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say it, but I've found that after a hard days work I'll set the mood, the lighting, grab a beverage, and "chill" for an evening of good tunes, I tend to fall asleep within thirty minutes.

My goal is to have three zones of tunes so when I walk between them I have reasonably good quality music playback in them all.
Seems I'm more of a "music-o-phile" than an "equipment-o-phile".
