Economics may have been involved. However, at 17:07, the placement of the mics are disclosed and it appears
to me that the mics are positioned as they intended.

I personally enjoy the placement in this particular case, probably due to the few instruments being used. This
does allow one to check how well their system reproduces the echos created by the room.
Of course the enjoyment of the recording is a personal matter.

I have noticed that whenever Fanya is involved, it seems that minimalist recording techniques are used, which I personally appreciate.

Cheers to all.

Another Fire, Vivaldi Summer. Notice the seeming sonic difference between the one hand mic and afterward
the multiple instruments. Fewer instruments appear to allow one to investigate the room acoustics with more detail.

Notice link on post #343, with just 3 instruments, also allows one to observe the acoustics in more detail.

Nice stuff there. From the same group, some incredible strings to check your system down to deep bass.

The 5th is exceedingly tough on a system. Did the French horns sound natural?

Here is one I hope you enjoy. Again, naturalness is prime with clarinet and violin.

Hi Nick,

I think you might find this group interesting in that the fire's venues and mic placements allow for
more or less venue participation in the recording. Below is one selection where the music is almost
swallowed up by the venue and mic placement.

That brings back good memories Nick. I appreciated his honesty and integrity in his reviews.
He was also a gent and showed his love for his wife.

As a guitarist whose hands don't work anymore I am alternately fascinated and pissed by great dexterity:

Here is a short take Bryan amazing young Japanese bassist: Ayumu

Reminds me of Eric Czar...only better I think.
