I don't care what type of music it is or what era it's from. If it is produced really well, I would like to know about it (and I'm sure others would as well!)

Really great artists that produce things well from my listening adventures are:
1. James Blake - Overgrown, The Colour in Anything
2. Gungor - One Wild Life: Soul, Beautiful Things
3. Bobby McFerrin - Beyond Words
4. Ed Sheeran - X
5. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
6. Plumb - Blink
7. The Brilliance - Brother
8. Emmylou Harris - Wrecking Ball
9. Jay-Z - The Blueprint
10. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
11. Bon Iver - Bon Iver
12. Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
13. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
14. Norah Jones - Come Away with Me
15. Frank Sinatra - In The Wee Small Hours

What do you guys think?
What do you recommend?
What should be added / removed / updated from this list?

I love recommendations, so this thread will be great!

"I AM" - Earth, Wind & Fire, produced by Maurice White, Al McKay
"Respighi: Belkis, Queen of Sheba" - Minnesota Orchestra, produced by Keith Johnson
"Ellington at Newport" (1999 CD) - 1956 original recordings produced by George Avakian, 1999 remaster produced by Phil Schaap

Honorable mention:
"My Funny Valentine" - Gerry Mulligan Quartet, produced by Richard Bock, 1953. This song was in every jukebox in America in 1954, and made Chet Baker a huge pop star. In 2015, the recording was inducted into the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry for the song's "cultural, artistic and/or historical significance to American society and the nation's audio legacy." Richard Bock was later Babs Streisand's producer. Recorded on single microphone, no mixer, at The Haig diner in Hollywood, May 30, 1953. The birthplace of West Coast Jazz.

Concierto Andaluz by Rodrigo with one of the Romeros on Mercury; and Resphigi's Ancient Airs and Dances on Mercury
These are both on the later Dutch import vinyl and are much more detailed than the older Mercury sound.  Both are great vinyl.  Instrument placement is superb.

INNOVATORS - Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon

Originally distributed upon the WordPerfect SixO disc.

Their production and musicianship is always top notch.  Here is a cut dedicated to Albert Schweitzer:  The Sage of Lambarene as well as performances from a PBS special in 1993

Seems that that song is looped over and over in the playlist.  Try this of La Capitana -

You might think I am crazy but... I have come to think of this as a pointless endeavor. While I can name a lot of productions I like, most have some faults. Rumors, lots of faults. But I still enjoy having a very early 1st pressing, love the music.

Really I've come to appreciate how drastically different album to album sound. At some point you can really tell whether it's the album character you're hearing, or the stereo.

For testing a stereo I think having the very familiar album is better than a good production album.

When it comes down to production differences, you have questions of taste. With classical do you want chamber sound or orchestral stage sound? There are lots of questions.
