I came across this in my search for an affordable streaming solution.

Made by SMSL, the class T amp and Dac company from Hong Kong/China.  Never heard any of their products before. I'll look for reviews, but looks like a good deal for the price.

Hi Nick,

This is for a desktop setup. I've wanted to get rid of my PC as music source for a long time, but being the cheapskate that I am, I keep holding back until I find something cheap enough and decent enough. I still have not resurrected my old 2-channel stereo and haven't even started on any of the plans I had from early this year (buying a single driver speaker, amp, etc.).

But I read that you've managed to finish (?) your renovation or are close to it. Perhaps some you can post some pics of your new rig when done?

If you are looking for something inexpensive look at Chomecast Audio is only $25

Has a digital out, does bit perfect and roon now support them. I did a lot of listening to the orginal with friends over and we all agreed it sounds great.

Hi Paul,
You're not cheap, you're "thrifty". Good luck on completing your setup. As to my renovation project, it's coming along nicely. I'm so happy to have gotten rid of the contractor as the quality of work was often so mediocre or poor. I can fix some of his errors, but I can't take off base boards that were nailed back into place and misaligned by nearly a 1/4". Now I am waiting for a couple of plumbers to call me back  💤 💤 I'll post some pics of the new rig soon.

Thanks., JBNY I've seen this. May I know what the equipment it was connected to was and how it compares to more expensive gear?

Ah! Semantics!  :D  We can agree I am 'economical'.
