Roger Waters "The Wall"

OK so I posted a week or two ago that I was extremely underwhelmed by the SQ on the Tidal stream of this album, but I would reserve judgement until I heard the CD. Well, I got the CD and it is just as bad. (And it is not just me, because three other people have heard it in my house and said the same think. It had very strange phasey imaging and sounds like it was recorded on the inside of a box. Which really perplexed me because I saw this shoe live when it came to Long Island in Oct of 2011 and that show had some of the best SQ I had ever heard at a rock concert, period.

Last weekend I picked up the DVD from my library, just to see how that was. I was shocked, the difference was night and day. The 5.1 soundtrack of the DVD was clear and sound orders of magnitude better than the CD. I am completely befuddled as to why since you would think they both would have been source from the same feed, but for whatever reason the SQ is worlds apart. I wonder what the vinyl is like (but I am not about to risk $45 until I at least hear from somebody who has done a critical evaluation of it. And I would think the Bluray version of the video should sound better than the DVD as well. But after hearing the CD I am not going to go out on that limb right now.

Recorded over three consecutive nights in December of 2014, Live at the Village Vanguard showcases bassist Christian McBride and his trio in concert at the storied New York venue. A four-time Grammy winner, McBride has been a superstar in the jazz world since debuting as a teenager in the late '80s. Here, McBride is joined by his trio bandmates, pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr. This is the same outfit that recorded the swinging, sophisticated 2013 studio album Out Here. As with that release, Live at the Village Vanguard finds McBride diving headlong into a set of swaggering, lively standards, originals, and unexpected covers, including a take on the theme to the cult '70s comedy film Car Wash.

Nice one Evan. Thanks for the heads up.  :thumb:

Disappointed in the sound quality of this. I admit it, I love the Grateful Dead.Anyone else ?

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Grateful Dead, the "core four" original members - Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir – reunited at Chicago's Soldier Field on 4th of July weekend for one of the most anticipated concert events in recent history. Joined by Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti, and Bruce Hornsby.Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead is the original members' last-ever performance together nearly 20 years to the day of the last ever Grateful Dead concert with Jerry Garcia, which took place at the same historic venue. Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years Of Grateful Dead 4-CD and 2-Blu-ray Version contains full audio and high-definition video from final show (July 5) on CD and Blu-ray.

I do not by any stretch consider myself a Dead Head, but I do enjoy much of their music (especially the American Beauty album.) But I to was left very cold by the SQ of this release. I streamed it a week or two ago and was so under whelmed by it that I forgot that I didn't write anything about it until I saw your post.
