This is some seriously sad Lee Morgan. A good example of why you should not do heroin.

My trumpet teacher Leon Merian is playing lead trumpet on some tracks of this recording. RIP Leon!

FIM recording, awesome sonics. Traditional Chinese instruments playing traditional Chinese music. I love genuine ethnic music.

Sad as in the tone is sad, or sad as in the playing sounds like a heroin addict?

I was gonna get this, but not if the latter is true. :(

Just got this at the crackhouse, haven't had a chance to clean it yet, is it worth the effort?

I would think so, but..............

The playing is weak and confused. It is not as bad as some other recordings, and still worth listening to. Post teeth.

Is Heifetz worth the effort?  And Reiner?  Oh Yeah.  :thumb:

This is probably the finest Brahms Violin Concerto ever recorded, though I like Isaac Stern performance with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra on Columbia as well.

Well then, time to put Tom Cat on, again, and root through the boxes for the Heifitz.
