Rolling Stones Let It Bleed

    CD

BobM

Just got the new Santana - Moonflower audiophile pressing. The original always had a "sheen" to it that I found hard to take. It was think and hard sounding, especially on the live tracks. This new version doesn't completely get rid of that on the live cuts but it is much more filled in than before. Probably just the live mike feed and the nature of the original recording, it is live after all. However the studio cuts are now big and bold and beautiful sounding. A nice transformation over the original, and I always loved this album.

I'll be drinking wine at sundown to this at some point this weekend.

I've got this on vinyl. The sound is very nice but it has a distinctive left right separation and not a "modern" stereo sound overall.

BobM - still enjoying it regardless.

Jerome - I'd like to hear that!  :thumb:

So it seems this is how it is going to have to be for a while. With everything going on at home it seems that I have been managing to get in a lot of listening time (unfortunatley in smaee spurts, but listening none the less) but I don't seem to be able to put together time to post as well as listen. So here I am playing catch-up with a few days worth of posts. (Oh well, beats not listening at all.)

Finishing up on my run of Nautilus LPs

Nice SQ, but from a musical and a performance standpoint the group was definitely past its prime.
