Inception. The first time I heard that it was spinning on the air at a radio station I was visiting. WERS in Boston, Emerson University, they had a great afternoon jazz show called "The Jazz Oasis."

Emerson, bracketed on one side by Chinatown/NEMC where I worked, on other side by Park Plaza hotel which used to be the Statler Hilton where I spent a few summers as a bellhop, then across the Common to Beacon Hill and Suffolk University where I got my MBA. God! I wish I could get out of PA and go home.

I miss the "people watching" on sunny summer afternoon in Copley Plaza...

I have been really missing my music and have a huge backlog of stuff.

I can only imagine

(This of course coming from somebody that has picked up 75 CDs and 42 LPs from the Crack House in the past week.  )

Anyway it's good to see you back in the saddle. Has the change in seasons inspired you to switch over to Jazz for a while?

Until I listened to all of these songs back to back I never really realized what a wide breadth of musical styles ONJ has recorded.

Not really Tom.  I've just been missing it a lot and decided that it was time to get back to jazz.

Well I for one am excited about the prospect of you going on a Jazz tear. I have pick up all kinds of good info from your postings on classical stuff and as a result been introduced to a whole bunch of really good albums that I probably never would have looked at otherwise (as well as several that I have seen many times and kust looked past.) I can't wait to see what I find based on your jazz posts.

This album comes from the MFSL Sinatra Capitol Recordings set and it was an extremely nice buy.  I snagged it on eBay about 5 years ago.  The seller had very little feedback and the starting price of $300 did not attract any bidders.  He did not have a lot of details in his listing and the pictures only showed that the case had a few minor scuffs on it but was otherwise in nice condition.  I asked him a few questions and based on his answers I decided to take a chance.  I was the only bidder and got it for $300 plus $35 shipping.  The records were virtually unplayed.  I think Acoustic Sounds has one of these sets available and their asking price is $1,400.

I scored one of those sets at a record show about 20 years ago. Great collection, Great SQ.

I saw the same $1400 price on Chad's web site and was absolutely shocked.  (I'm embarassed to tell you what I paid for mine. It was the end of the day at a very lightly attended show  and the guy was just about giving stuff away so he didn't have to pack it out to his car in the pouring rain. I of course was only too happy to help him out.  :thumb:
