The Best of Chet Baker - Original Hits

CD, label OSA, #221498-205

I think this is a knock-off, can't find it listed anywhere online.

I bought it as I didn't have a version of what's supposedly Chet's greatest hit - "My Funny Valentine". I hope this aint it. It's an instrumental version only, live in club based on the people talking in background and glasses clinking. Liner notes claim it's with Gerry Mulligan from 5/53 date. It's fairly pedestrian sounding, and rest of CD is worse.

Studio album,  SQ not as good as the live Carnegie Hall albums, but not too bad in its own right.

Watertown
Frank Sinatra | Format: vinyl

This is different, a 'concept' album by Sinatra, as close to rock/pop sounding in tone as he got. It tells the story of a man in a small town who's wife has left him. On first listen, left me cold, I expected something along the lines of 'For Only The Lonely' or Tom's recent listing of 'Strangers In The Night'.

On 3rd listen, it's growing on me. It's Sinatra, but it's .............., (I don't know).

Here's a better description and samples at this link;

Lindsey Buckingham - Seeds We Sow
(CD)
No doubt there are some songs on here that have that nostalgic feel of his premier days with that very popular band, but most of this seems to be pretty introspective. It is a quite nice album that is certainly not going to be nominated for best album of the year, but it is a fun listen nevertheless.

One of my favorite records is "Buckingham Nicks."  I really don't like much of what Stevie nicks has done outside of Fleetwood Mac, which says how good Lindsey Buckingham must be.
