Watertown
Frank Sinatra | Format: vinyl

This is different, a 'concept' album by Sinatra, as close to rock/pop sounding in tone as he got. It tells the story of a man in a small town who's wife has left him. On first listen, left me cold, I expected something along the lines of 'For Only The Lonely' or Tom's recent listing of 'Strangers In The Night'.

On 3rd listen, it's growing on me. It's Sinatra, but it's .............., (I don't know).

Here's a better description and samples at this link;

I know what you mean Gene. As much as I enjoy Sinatra, I have never really warmed up to this album either.

Jackie McLean: Let Freedom Ring

Blue Note CD

I just did not care for this one musically. Just a little too mellow and laided back for my tastes. YMMV.

Hey you can't like them all (some of us may try to own them all, but..... :roll:)

  And are we using a mono cart ?? Great LP enjoy !
I'm listening to the simmering bubbles of the Sunday Tomato Sauce. The meatballs, sausage and pork butt are singing along.
  Singing along with " The Sauce"  are the Three tenors at Carnegie Hall, next up Caruso, oh my !!

Not yet Charles.  I have the cart, but am waiting on a plinth for my new turntable.  I probably won't get around to putting it all together until after the holidays.
