My only CLEAR WAX vinyl recording... have both regular vinyl & clear vinyl pressings of this release...

Any sonic differences?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Tom,
Well, my original black vinyl pressing, 180 gram, is a bit noisier. The clear wax is much cleaner & sounds really nice... as far as digital-sounding, not in my system...

The clear wax has the cool factor, too...

My $0.02,
Pete

I'd think it would sound more "transparent," clearly.

I agree with the black vinyl sounding a bit noisy. My CD version sounds quite a bit cleaner

It's funny I have heard complaints about clicks and pops from a lot of people about the original black 180g Lost Highway pressing of this album. But my copy is dead quiet. I guess I must have gotten in on the early end of the press run.

how do you post album cover art here?
I can't copy and paste which would seem to be the easy and logical way to do it -- or is it just me.

Easy....

Band on the Run on vinyl.

Leaving the music aside, the sound quality of this record is just awful.

The differences between LPs and CDs are trivial compared to the differences that the engineering of the recording makes.  A well recorded album even streaming at 320kps over Spotify will sound much better than a poor recording on vinyl.

Thanks Chris.
I had wanted to copy and paste an actual picture not a link to a picture on the web. In the meantime I located a site for links for pictures.  I still don't understand why this limitation exists.

I was working as a broadcast engineer at WTHE radio when this album came out. I remember the day out pre-release copyy arrived. We had just shut down for the night and I was sitting in the control room with our program director and we put it on the TT. The two of us just sat there with our jaws hanging open, saying "Holy Sh%t" through the entirety of both sides.

A true classic.  :thumb:

Has anyone hear the recent 200g LP pressing? I have the MoFi from the 80s and have been wondering if the new one is a step up from it.
