Charles Mingus: Mingus at the Bohemia

Debut/OJC CD

Recorded in Dec 1955 this was Mingus' first recording with a working band of this own.

Picked this one off of the sale table at the library for 10 cents.

Great album that I would have been very happy with even at full price.

My favorite recording of the Mercury Living Presence series. I have a Speaker's Corner 180g pressing (among others) and have been anxiously awaiting the promised ORG 45 RPM reissue, which has been listed as coming soon, available for pre-order on Elusive Disc for at least two years now. I recently called ED and they told me that ORG is still telling them that it is in the works, but they have gotten no specific information from the company as to a release date.
