I do believe that moving a cord requires some time to settle. So, when it comes to head phone cords do we ever hear what they really sound like? Or do we just try to get a good sounding cord that never gets to settle. Break in is a different story and I have heard a difference.

I've been wondering the same thing. But how would you remedy this? Would a super stiff cable or a headphone suspended on some sort of immovable rack/stand do it? I'm thinking some kind of harness that would lower on your head but that would be very impractical.

  Exactly. However no resolution to issue. I would say one would have to have the wire fixed to a point where there is only movement of a few feet to put on. Then after an hour of listening your good again.
  Besides headphones are a trade off to speakers so other than curiosity to the question does it really matter. YES cables take three days to settle back for some odd reason.

Maybe a guillotine would serve the same purpose. Not as comfortable though.

A pillory would probably work.

Worn too many over the years and have minor tinnitis due to them and open car windows @ 60mph.
