Hi all.
I like almost any kind of music except heavy metal rock (For me, that's noise, not music) country and rap.
Here is a list (with link when I found it on You Tube)
Of course, since I am 71 years old,
I'm from the Beatles era.

59 years old.

I like jazz pre 1970(roughly)

I like classical

I like blues

I like country pre 1980(roughly)

I like some prog rock(Genesis a particular fave)

I selectively like a bunch of things played by college stations on the left end of the dial. I guess it’s called ‘alternative rock’

I like reggae, Celtic, polka and classic soul in limited doses.

I like older rock in general, but here on Long Island a few radio stations play the same 30 songs over and over and over and over, so the phrase ‘classic rock’ makes my skin crawl.

I am always listening for something new that I like. I’ll make a beer analogy for no particular reason... Two years ago I thought all beer styles were out and perfected. Then along comes the New England IPA style. And I love it. There’s music out there... We just have to look.

Well, 55 here, and I enjoy Rock, Punk, Alternative, Grunge, Garage, Electronica, Acid Lounge, from the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s. Lots of poorly recorded stuff in there, but some very good as well
But also Jazz/Blues(Baker, Brubeck, Parker, Ella, etc) and Classical (Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, etc)

At 67 I find my taste are 95% Classical and Jazz, with the occasional folk, rock, Lyle Lovett, occasional Windham Hill stuff, or musicals.  I've always liked classical, but have fallen hard for jazz of the 50's and 60's over the last decade.   The Led Zeppelin of my youth seldom gets played now days.

My grandson Ben tells me I'm a very young 71... I'll go with that.

Music, well conceived, well played, well recorded is in my wheelhouse.  I appreciate it all.

Hey Guy,

I never guessed you would be into Europop. Is Aqua still around? And does A-ha still play?

Paul

Hi Paul.
That's the type of music I like, but not all the time, ony maybe once a week.
I browse all the time on You Tube and each time I browse, I find something interesting.
I still have lots more links to share, but I will do it slowly...
Many of those song - artist - group have vanish,
but they are still on the Internet (You Tube) so I take advantage of that
to refresh my memory and bring back good memories...

Any fans of Nikki Yanofsky here?

This is her version of 'Lullaby of Birdland' when she was just 14 years old. Still had her braces on.

https://youtu.be/NJ4CDbb8Jas

Incredible how she holds the notes.

Her version of 'A Tisket, a Tasket' :  https://youtu.be/XfLkmQN7qx0

A bit of Ella got reincarnated with her is what I am thinking.
