"Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez on vinyl.  Just good music and a pretty good pressing.  Why? because I FINALLY got my Victor TT-81 turntable back and set up.

I've been locked away in my den for 4 days, staying away from my wife after being exposed to Covid  last Wed for two hours in a car.
So part of passing the time is listening to my new to me copy of the RCA Pines of Rome on an Analogue Productions vinyl.
Still symptom free and playing music!

:X  After testing negative for Covid, I made a run to the local record store.
Listening to a NM- copy of Angel Romero and with Andre Previn and the London Sym.
On 45 rpm, an excellent rendition of one of my favorite pieces.  The pace is just slow enough to hear every note, but not ponderous.
Rodrigo's Conceirto de Aranjuez.   Just fine music.  I love concertos on my big speakers.  :thumb:

I love Chopin.  And I know most of his catalogue reasonably well.  Tonight I pulled out a performance of his Nocturnes by Guimar Novaes on Vox.  I hate Vox.  They are usually noisy, badly pressed vinyls, but the performances can be top quality, and this one was no different.  But after listening though the tics and pops I realized I'd bypassed this lp for so long that really wasn't familiar with the material- these aren't the hugely popular ones.
This is a different Chopin, dreamy and almost lazy at times.  Flashes of melodic beauty are there but not like most of his other material.  But it's still Chopin, and means compellingly melodic.
If you like Chopin and are looking for something slightly different, find his complete Nocturnes.  There are some simple little jewels in there.
