It's been a long time since I posted here.
Picked up a copy of RCA Living Stereo LSC 2487, Guitar Concertos with Julian Bream.
It's 1961 first pressing, quite clean.   Back in the day it was on Harry Pearson's list at The Absolute Sound, and later on the Merrill guide to RCA as his top ratings.  A few years back Analogue Productions got the master tapes, and re issued a new version.
It's very detailed, guitar in just feet a few yards away on the stage with Malcolm Arnold conduction the first recording of his guitar Concerto.   The other Concerto is the Guiliani Concerto for Guitar and Strings, one of the first concertos written for guitar in 1812.
And it was a Demo copy!

Good to have you post again. I was able to find Julian Bream and a number of his guitar concertos on Roon. Will take a listen a bit later this evening.

I was also reviewing a couple of the earlier posts. How did your back procedure turn out? Were you pleased with the final result?

Back is 86.3% better, not like new, but doesn't completely keep me from doing stupid stuff  :D.  I'm not limited to 5 minutes over the sink, or 3 minutes with a chain saw. Last week I was trimming mesquite limbs in front of the house for about an hour.    I can split firewood again, but not for hours at a time.   So overall, a successful outcome.

Glad you are so much improved, Scott. My first fusion at L3-5 helped tremendously. The issue now is at L2. I can function adequately day to day, but would like to feel and function much better.  I know an excellent spinal surgeon in the town where I used to live and will likely get a second opinion as well.

I do have some things planned in March and April, so am looking at May and the weather will be warmer as well. It's only a 3 month recovery and then I can slowly get back to regular activities.

I was going to post some album photos I listened to last night, but haven't been able to figure out how to do that again. Part of the issue regarding posting photos is also the old software we are using here.

To post photos from the web, find the box under the Bold" box (next to the italics box)   I can't tell what's in it, but that's the picture box.  When you click on it, it will look something like this:

{ img } http:dylanstuffdot com  {img/}   Paste in between the image brackets.
example, find Dylan, find Copy image link, click on it, then paste , then post.

When ready, hit post

I hope this is clear.  I've had to change more charaters than I expected as it kept leaving things out when I posted.

Thanks, Scott. I was taking screenshots and then copying the image to Apple photos. This time I used Safari as the browser and then just clicked on the image.

Going through my stack labeled misc, I pulled out this:

Quite an easy listen, sorta a modern take on Vivaldi and Rodriquez scored for as a motion picture theme.
Almeida shows his virtuoso chops throughout. Nice clean pressing.
Don't know why I had it in misc, clearly classical.

Nick, I think you'd like this.

Thanks, Scott. Can't find it yet on Roon which includes Tidal and Qobuz. Have done searches under Laurindo Almeida and the Los Angeles Orchestra de Camera as well. Will search individually in Tidal and Qobuz as Roon search is quirky at times....

My buddy that runs a record store had a couple of boxes of stuff he's just bought with some classical... leading my to find a bunch of spanish guitar, some desirable Beethovan, and this oddball.
So the WHY is because odd stuff catches my attention... as to what...

This is from a tiny label doing all the recording stuff by hand back in the fifties.  Mostly Greek/Arab sounding but very cleanly recorded and quietly pressed by Carlton records, a tiny independent with a short lifespan.

Found this on Roon and the label is Harkit Records. The year is 1958. The Carlton Records version didn't come up in Roon or in Spotify where I do most of my album cover searches.

As an fyi to the few of you that would want to post album covers, the method Scott recommended is correct, but posting is sometimes cumbersome on our site because I have to repeatedly tap paste on my ipad to get the photo to load. Whether that is a result of our outdated SMF software, I don't know. I can't post screenshots of albums because Apple uses the HEIC photo format which is not supported here.
