Who made Philips tubes
« on: December 18, 2021, 12:45:20 PM »
Hi all,
After much searching for tubes info it seems that Amperex in Heerlen Holland made tubes branded Amperex and Philips. So was Philips just a distributor and not a manufacturer?

Thanks

Phillips manufactured their own tubes but also bought out and owned Amperex, Mullard, Valvo, Miniwatt, Tungsram and later Sylvania to gain access to US Military contracts.  All of the brands continued to sell under their original brand name and also OEM'd for each other as well as other companies.  Date and plant name are more important with this group than name on the tube.
