Anyone own them ? Hearing lots of good things about them. Great reviews, fair pricing. The Double Impact looks very inviting. Lore as well. Any thoughts ?

After the well known "controversy", I would not touch them.  Erin seems like a solid and honest guy, while Eric comes across like a bully and a dick.  Just my opinion.

Abbreviated / summary version provided by AI:

AI Overview
The controversy surrounding Tekton speakers involves accusations of threatening legal action against reviewers who published negative feedback on their products. Specifically, Eric Alexander, the owner of Tekton Designs, has been involved in disputes with reviewers at Audio Science Review (ASR) and Erin's Audio Corner. These disputes arose after negative reviews, particularly regarding the Mini Lore and Troubadour models, which included measurement results and subjective opinions that Tekton disputed. The controversy escalated when Tekton allegedly threatened legal action and demanded the removal of reviews, creating a public relations problem for the company.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Audio Science Review (ASR):

ASR published a review of the Tekton Mini Lore speakers, noting poor performance measurements and negative subjective feedback. This led to a public dispute with Tekton, including threats of legal action.

Erin's Audio Corner:

Erin Hardison of Erin's Audio Corner reviewed the Tekton Troubadour speakers, including measurements that showed a potential resonance issue. Tekton disputed the reviewer's methodology and measurements, demanding the review be removed and threatening legal action.

The Core of the Dispute:

Tekton's owner, Eric Alexander, argued that the reviewers did not properly measure the speakers, specifically citing the absence of feet inserts on the Troubadour and incorrect measurement angles. He also claimed the negative reviews impacted sales.

Impact on Reviews:

The threats of legal action led to the removal of some reviews, with Audio Resurgence reports the review by Erin's Audio Corner being removed from YouTube. Other reviewers also note that they faced similar pressures.

Industry Reaction:

The controversy has drawn criticism from various audio enthusiasts and reviewers, who see the threats of legal action as an attempt to silence negative feedback.

I have ZERO respect for the Gents at Audio Science. Many Manf's claim the same about them. Eric may have went overboard hwever Audio Science deserved it. Did the same to Synergystic Research. Ted Denny went as far to offer paying for AS to come to His room in Calif with ALL His measurement gear. He refused. If it were me I would sue them.
Back to what matters. The numerous reviews are great from real reviewers. Kemper Holt, Clement Perry and more. The prices are very good. would like to demo the Double Impact limited Edition.

My opinion, from listening to two different pairs of the smaller floor standers several years back at a friends home, is that if you are a fan of QLN the Tekton's won't be your style of speaker.  However if you want to go through the hassle of shipping a speaker of that size back and forth plus dealing with Eric then go for it.

Big Fan of Qln. Dealers as well. Just ordered the Baby Signatures. Tektons are a nose bleed to demo. Weighing in at over 125 pounds and getting them in my room I would need movers at my age. However curious as to how they sound. Thanks Jack.

Though I've never heard QLN's in person all of the reviews I have read from the guys at PTA and others indicate to me that their sound signature is in line with speakers I own and like from Verity, Nola, Reynaud and Rosso Fiorentino.  The Tekton's are not that and like you said they are big heavy and expensive to ship.

What caught my interest is a Piano player friend of mine who has owned numerous speakers told me the Tekton just sounds real and live. He has the Double Impact limited edition. 125 pounds each. $3800. Fair price for 98db and bass to 20HZ. However a nose bleed to demo in Home.

I have never hear Eric's speakers in person but do have a few customers that have them and enjoy them very much.
I don't trust anything that ASR says. I've followed quite a few of their reviews and found them to be quite (very)biased.
