Speaker Placement.

 An interesting experience occurred breaking in the new Qln V7 stand mount speaker. My speaker stands are filled with sand which are very heavy for me to lift alone. So I figured for break in just put them anywhere. I placed them on top of the Tekton Enza speakers. About 4' tall. To my surprise the sound stage was larger and gave me the feeling of the performers on stage. Meaning I was below them as in a live performance.
 I never would have thought of that result. We were told tweeters should be at ear level. Bought stands from Qln to get that. After total break in of 500 hours I will put on stands and compare. For now no reason to change, go figure.

Thats one of the things about audio that makes it so interesting.... what tweaks work well and which don't. My Voce Grande speakers could probably benefit from vibration control, but I've not tried anything as the pucks etc are so expensive. My speakers have non adjustable gliders, so I would think there's room for improvement. Suggestions are welcome...

  Take a look at Symposium. They make a vibration control pad to put on top of speaker. I have them. Very affective and not expensive. I inherited them. Never expected them to work. To my surprise they did.
