Divide the length of the room into sevenths

Divide the width of the room by fifths

Place speakers at intersection points, trying different locations until the best one is found.

Tweak toe-in and final placement

Multiple subwoofers with a pair in the back anti-phase at very low volume

I don't recall the specifics, but I remember Ron Brenay doing a utube video on how he does things... divides the room, uses tape on the floor etc

Two is better.  Helps with subtle spatial cues and dimensionality.

Quite interesting that you added subs to your full range speakers...

I don't consider myself a bass-head,  and I don't really need them for low end reach.  But they do add weight and ease to the sound, and nuance, a sense of space, and a dimensionality that just makes listening more enjoyable.  I'm referring to the use of two subs.  One sub doesn't quite provide the same effect.  At least IMO.

Yes, that's the video. Thanks for that. I haven't tried his method. Don't have the room with certain furniture, a kitchen island etc. But am getting very good sound under the circumstances.

Dave, Jack, Charles and others have mentioned the same benefits. Maybe my next place will have a better layout and more flexibility
