Quote from: ejk on August 01, 2026, 01:02:08 PMUber arrived today. I have been Ubered. Can't imagine once broken in.

Good news indeed. Noise control is so darn important. My Uber has 8 receptacles and everything is plugged in. It works awesome 🤩

Yes my Uber has 8 also. I wanted to separate the amplifiers and the digital. I will leave the digital hooked up to the puritan labs, and all my amplifiers and preamp be plugged into the uber. One thing I did notice with the uber is that the soundstage is not as deep as when it was hooked up to the puritan labs.

This morning depth has returned and the micro dynamics are unreal. I am listening with my Pass Labs XA25. I have never been a fan of this amp since I purchased it. It's about 1.5 years old and maybe 20 hrs on it and now plugged into the Uber I am really enjoying it. I will plug my other amps into it later in the day. My toes are finally tapping to the Pass Labs.

Sigh. I wish I lived close to you! Of the 3 or 4 SS amps I have been considering one of them is the XA25. I have never knowingly heard one, but many people love this amp.

It's never been my favorite amp. I am more drawn to my GanFets

So you will likely sell the Pass? I like the Starkrimson, but don't want to switch from the Elvis, at least for a while. The Elvis is quiet, resolves beautifully and has a nice rich midrange. What amp(s) get most of the playing time?

I'm enjoying it now.Why would I sell it l o l

Was just wonderin'.... 🤷

Observations with the different amps plugged into the uber versus the puritan labs coming later on today

I'm finding that with the Orchard amps plugged into the Uber the overall sound is in your face and not as defined. Plugged into the Puritan the sound is more natural. Pass labs plugged into the Uber the sound is more natural with a quieter background than plugged directly into the wall or the Puritan. I'm wondering if this is because of the difference in power supplies. I know Chat GT is not 100% but it says that the higher power components should be plugged into the Uber and the lower powered stuff in the Puritan. It also says that if using both I should plug them into different wall outlets which I am not doing. I did not like the sound of Orchard with my preamp plugged into the Uber but with the pre and Pass Labs amp plugged into the Uber it was a winning combination. Instruments had more detail and a quieter background. I still have more hrs to burn in on the Uber and sorry if there is a lot of run on sentences so I will see if anything changes in the weeks to come.

The SMPS in the Orchard are the culprit.  They simply don't like a PFC network in series with them.

The Puritan uses the more common method of noise reduction with inductors , etc.  no matter what Puritan says the result is current limiting and phase shift.  You can't get around physics.

The reason I developed the DigiBUSS was to be used specifically with components with SMPS.  It is (was) the my only device with inductors.  The common mode line inductor used is rated @ 25A / 250VAC.  Resistance is .003ohms.  The primary purpose was to eliminate back EMF being introduced the circuit.  It also reduces line noise from wall warts, dimmers, appliances with always on demand sensors and so on.
