Great !! We can dress you up in a big goofy mascot costume and have you greet people at the door.
I remember VPI had a cute girl in a mini skirt at their door
but I don't think you would look good in a mini !!
I like yankin yer chain Bill...hope you can come with us.

Hmmmnnn...

I have nice legs, Greg - but a mini-skirt may be a bit extreme!

As far as mascots or costumes go, maybe a flashback to "S.N.L." would be more fun...???  I can be the "Landshark" !!!

I'll be there with two vinyl front ends.  A traditional one up in a room with autoformers and a yummy 50 amp and we are planning the strain gauge downstairs at a table with some headphones.

Moral of the story...Bring Vinyl!

Hello to all!

I haven't loaded the pix I took at C.A.F. to my computer yet, but they'll eventually get posted up.  As always, it was great to be with the NY/NJ guys in rooms 806 & 817.  It was also really nice to see a good number of forum buddies and people I know from the show management and audio press.

Here are my initial comments and opinions.  I think the Sheraton was a nicer hotel than where the show was held last year. The show covered parts of six (6) different floors. I'm not sure if the crowds were thinner than last year, but it certainly felt that way. Maybe the venue was a little bit more "spread out" this year, which caused the attendance look weaker than it really was...???

I realize it's not NYC, but I can't understand why there's not a better draw to this event.  It really is a great show: big enough to keep you busy & interested and small enough to be manageable & comfortable. (Then again, I hope I don't convince too many of you to attend next year and make it too crowded!   )

I think our friends (GT Audio Works/Triode Wire Labs/Rollo Audio) in Rooms 806 & 817 made a very nice showing of themselves.  Both systems sounded very, very good.  Of course, having vinyl playback along with Greg's bigger speakers in Room 817 gave it an somewhat unfair advantage over 806.  If it gives any more credence to how good these two systems were; they were two of the busiest rooms at the show and had a much better than average flow of listeners in/out compared to a lot of other vendors.

Oh, before I forget!  Steve was a welcome addition to the rotation manning Room 806 (it was nice to have another familiar face there) and last but not least, meeting and becoming friends with Nick was great.

More TK.

P.S. to Charles, Pete & Greg: Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share the experience with you guys again.  I had a blast.

P.P.S. to George: Thanks for being a great room-mate, co-pilot and pal to enjoy the show with.

I just sent a PM on this to a fellow audiophile and afterwards thought that it may be a good idea to "put this out there" to everyone.

I was at CAF from Friday through Sunday morning and spent (various amounts of) time in each and every room.  I came to the realization that I may have crossed paths with many of you at the show and didn't know it because I've never met you in person before!  :duh:

All of us forum people need to organize better.  Maybe bright obnoxious name tags with the forum name, user name and persons real name would work? We should create and circulate a generic name tag PDF on the forum and have everyone that intends on going to an audio show like CAF print it out and "fill-in-the-blanks" and wear it.

Sorry I missed at lot of you... then again, I have no idea if I missed you!
