And back in those days our options for music at the beach were pretty much limited to the radio, so we heard this one a lot.

Yes, a quite familiar song. But I wasn't familiar with the band name. This was a couple of years post college for me.

Smoke from a Distant Fire topped out at #9 on the Billboard charts and the band supported it by performing as the opening act for Fleetwood Mac on the Rumours tour as well as playing with Marshal Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Jimmy Buffett, Foreigner and Heart. But in spite of all that exposure on the road the group was never again able to crack the Top 40, earning them the title of being yet another "One Hit Wonder."

Just as an aside, there is a link to a Wikipedia page about the one hit wonders from 1955 through 2017. I had a lot of "oh wow" moments as I read through that list.
