Wow, that is freaky. It is not unusual to hear about someone being killed when they com flying off a motorcycle during an accident, but this is the first time I heard of someone dying when a motorcycle flew on to them. But like I tell my kids, 18 wheelers play for keeps, and the don't lose very often.  :(

Yep,  I expect lonewolfie to be up- he's awake and posting 24/7, and I'm awake cuz I don't have a 9-5 job to be at in the morning.  tmazz- didn't think you could nap during the day, w/your suit and briefcase?

And I was up that late just because I'm nut's. As for naps, that's what the Long Island Railroad is for.

The Charlie Parker Story #3

Saw this in the Crack House and was hesitant at first to pick it up because I am not usually a fan of simulated stereo release. But the 69 cent price took over and I said what the heck. Wow, am I sure glad I did! :thumb: Simulated stereo or not, the SQ on this LP is really nice. And the musicianship just blew me away. I was sitting in the mancave getting very impressed with the music when I pick up the cover and glanced at the liner notes. Holy cow! This album is a virtual who's who collection of jazz musicians!!!! In addition to Parker, this album features performances Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk,  Buddy Rich, Miles Davis, Max Roach, Ben Webster, Johnny Hodges, Benny Carter, Oscar Perterson, Barney Kessel and Ray Brown.  8)

Each one of these guys was, or later became a legitimate jazz superstar in his own right and on this LP they were is backup musicians.

No wonder I was so impressed. Check this one out if you can.  I know I am certainly going to be on the lookout for the rest of the series.  [-o<
