Laurence Juber: LJ Plays the Beatles

This is  the first of two albums of acoustic guitar versions of classic Beatles tunes,done by the former Wings lead guitarist. I picked up the second volume last week and this one arrived in the mail yesterday. It is played in a hard edgy style reminiscent of the early Michael Hedges albums on Windham Hill.  The second volume was recorded ten years later and by then Juber had adopted a bit more mellow style that I think just works better with the material he is presenting. Not that the first volume is bad in any sense, I just think the more mellow tone works better in this case. The SQ on both volumes id top shelf. If you are a fan of Beatles music I would definitely recommend both albums.

BTW - this had a much higher WAF than the Pink Floyd tribute CD I got earlier in the week.
