Quote from: Nick B on August 10, 2026, 10:00:51 PMWhat I am especially hoping to improve is the resonance/timbre of vocals and especially instruments. That element has always been lacking in my system. The inexpensive UPLINK ethernet that Jack and Evan recommended really improved that and I want more.

That type of reproduction in a system is hard to find... Have heard it on occasion.

Im still using the Link up cable. When Pete was here a few months ago he said to try his cable from.my switch to the streamer. He said no need from the wall to the switch. Its the only cable I have that isnt TWL.  Its not expensive either just havent got around to replacing it yet.

Watch... now there will be a price increase

Maybe so 😝 They offer other cables as well, but not as highly rated. These are also shielded, so I'm curious what an unshielded cable like Pete's will do.

Quote from: Jack on August 10, 2026, 11:40:59 PMActually from looking at the Erhard reviews it's the preamps that get the most accolades and have the lower price points. This is the one that would fit what you need. I've discussed the preamps with him several times but for now I don't need another one. Unfortunately as good as Aric's preamps are they are at least twice as expensive with a six month wait time.

Based on the sound of Holger's amp, his preamp is likely to be very good. I took a look at the link and the parts and quality look very good. The only problem is the attenuator. The stock version has a manual attenuator and an option is to use an Alps that has a remote. I don't want to go back to using an Alps as that is what the Chardonnay had. The dual mono remote that Arek from Khozmo offers is much better as to the quality, digital readout for each channel and functionality of the remote. So if I ever go to a tube preamp, it would have to use a better attenuator with remote control capability.

I took a look at the Aric Audio website and the single and dual mono 6ns7 versions. A lot more expensive and he uses the Khozmo remote. It is the 48 step rather than the 64 step unit that my Hattor has.

So I will keep my Hattor for a while and just see what a better quality ethernet cable can do.

Aric put the 48 step in mine. he said it's cleaner sounding.
Great about the TWL cable. I will wait for my commision

Back to the Uber and the Puritan Labs. listening through the Puritan I hear grunge now that I have the Uber hooked up. All this time I thought my system was silent.

I could live with the 48 step. I think the 64 step is for dual mono like my Hattor. I misspoke previously as Aric offers a two chassis preamp and not dual mono.
As to your commission, I wouldn't insult you with money, rather would simply heap praise on you
